Harrison Hammett
Brisbane-born baritone Harrison Hammett is currently completing his Masters of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music under the guidance of Professor Margaret Schindler.
A regular performer in major productions at the Conservatorium, Harrison’s key roles include: The titular roles in Eugene Onegin and Le nozze di Figaro for the 2025 and 2026 Val Machin Opera Scenes (Cond. Peter Luff), Anfinomo in Katz-Chernin’s re-orchestration of Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria (directed by Constantine Costi, conducted by Simon Bruckard), Maestro Spinelloccio and Amantio di Nicolao in Gianni Schicchi for the 2024 Puccini Double Bill (directed by Lindy Hume, conducted by Johannes Fritzsch), Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Ali in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri as part of the 2024 Val Machin Opera Scenes. Harrison was the bass soloist for Redland City Choir’s 2025 performance of Handel’s Messiah.
In 2025 Harrison was awarded first place in the Australian National Liederfest Competition, winning the Henkell Brothers & Goethe Institut Award with the Ian Field Memorial Award, earning him a place in the prestigious Schubert Institut 2025 program.
To further refine his technical and artistic skills, Harrison plans to pursue postgraduate studies and performances abroad from 2027. In addition to his performances, he supports his studies by running a bartending business, offering custom cocktails for private events and large gatherings across Brisbane.
